This week we have had a special assembly and shared our  homework projects with the rest of Key Stage One. Check out some of our wonderful Shoebox Gardens!

Our KS1 Fancy Dress Sponsored Walk!

We had a fantastic time today at our Fancy Dress Sponsored Walk. We loved dressing up and really enjoyed the walk around the school grounds. Thank you for all the donations, we hope that we have raised lots of money!

Natural materials

This week we have been learning about Andy Goldsworthy and we have looked at lots of the work that he has created. We collected natural materials and have made our own pictures in the same style as his work.

Metal Model Making

On Monday in Y6, we created our own models of shells because of our new topic Whitby. We were doing this because next week we are going to make metal versions of this to show people around the school. Here are some examples of us making our models and when they were finished:

This week class 3/4S has been making dream catchers for the wildlife area. Before we made them we looked at some art by Andy Goldsworthy .

This week in R.E we have being talking about the prophet Muhammad and researching how he changed history for Muslims. We retold  the story of Muhammad and then compared him with another man who changed history, Martin Luther King and wrote about the similarities and differences. Shakespeare show!

On the first of July class 5C/M will be performing a Shakespeare play called Othello!  So far we have worked on facial expressions, body language and our speech.  With working on speech we had to learn how to put expression into our sentences as well as how to make our voices bolder and louder.

Environmental Art

On Thursday afternoon 3LB has been learning about Andy Goldsworthy.  Andy was born in Cheshire and he lives in the UK. He is 59 years old now and in July he will be 60. He created sculptures and we had a go!

Alien models!

This week in class 5M we have been making little models of aliens out of plastercene. We made them out of different colours like green, black, yellow, marbled and lots more.
