Class 4SH

Welcome to our Class 4SH Page!

Mrs Hanson and miss sherburn

Hello and welcome to Year 4.

Our topic this term is, ‘What did the Ancient Greeks do for us?’ which is a history based theme where we will investigate what impact the Greeks had on life as we know it today. Children will be looking at the lifestyle of the ancient Greeks, myths and legends of that time and will explore the Olympic Games and how they have evolved over time. We will be using this fascinating topic to further develop our art, geography and writing skills.

The school day starts at 8.50am with the classroom doors opening at 8.45am. Registration is at 9.00am and learning starts immediately. The school day ends at 3.05pm and the children need to be collected by an adult at the end of the day. If you would like your child to be collected by someone other than yourself then a form will need to be filled in to advise school who your child/children can leave with. Forms are available from the office.

Water bottles should be brought into school on Monday and should go home for washing on a Friday. Reading books and reading journals will be sent home daily and it would be beneficial if children read aloud at home each week. Diaries should be recorded in and signed by an adult.

Homework and spellings will be given out on a Friday and will be due in the following Friday.

Our PE day is Wednesday and our swimming lessons are on Thursdays each week.
