It’s a little bit spooky in Y1B…

This week in year one, we are immersed in a spooky environment. We have been reading Funny Bones, making skeleton number bond hands, creating witches made from 2D shapes, and we will be making pumpkin soup later in the week. Miss Bullivant is hoping to cast a learning spell on the children!
Who’s that trip trapping on my bridge?!

After reading The Three Billy Goats Gruff, we all wanted to know why the troll wouldn’t share the bridge and be friends with the three goats. We decided to create our very own trolls, thinking about what we might look like, and if we were going to be kind or unkind to the goats. We […]
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt!

This week in F1 we’ve been so busy, going on a Bear Hunt. We put on our big coats and went hunting, we explored all the way through the long wavy grass, the deep cold river, the thick oozy mud, the big dark forest and the swirling whirling snowstorm until we reached the narrow gloomy cave where […]
Vikings invade Brinsworth!

We were very lucky to receive a visit from three Vikings on Thursday. We handled artefacts and learned about the life of a Viking. The children then acted out a story, providing some interesting sound effects. Finally, we learned about the different weapons the Vikings used. We even made our own shield wall! It was […]
Shhh! Listen very carefully!

In Foundation 2 we enjoyed a listening walk around school this week. We heard crinkling table cloths, squeaking guinea pigs, birds, cars, people talking and some tapping footprints.

KS1 go farming!
Today, Key Stage One went to become farmers at Cannon Hall Farm. Even though the weather was rainy, we saw a cow being milked, a sheep race and even some new born piglets. The children behaved impeccably and made the teachers at Brinsworth very proud. Well done KS1. Photos of our farm fun to follow […]
