Welcome
to Butterflies (FS2)

Mrs Westnidge
Meet your teacher
Hello! My name is Mrs Westnidge, and I have had the pleasure of working in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for over 15 years. I am passionate about supporting children as they grow, learn, and develop, and I firmly believe that the best learning happens through play, exploration, and discovery.
One of my favourite subjects to teach is phonics. I find it incredibly rewarding to watch children develop their reading and writing skills across the year. The progress they make—from those first letter sounds to becoming confident readers and writers—is truly phenomenal, and I feel privileged to be part of that journey.
I also love sharing stories and bringing books to life in the classroom. Children’s picture books are my favourite, and one of the stories I most enjoy reading is Supertato! Hopefully, I’ll get the chance to share it with you. I believe that books should be exciting and meaningful, helping children to connect with language and storytelling in a fun and engaging way.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring new places together.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you all in September and starting our learning adventure together!
Meet your Teaching Assistants

Mrs Haynes
Hello, I’m Mrs Haynes and I am your Early Years Practitioner in EYFS
I have worked at Brinsworth Whitehill for 15 years and feel proud to be part of such a nurturing and supportive school community.
I have a real passion for reading and love nothing more than getting stuck into a good book. One of my favourite moments in the school day is sharing stories with the class during carpet time. I also really enjoy anything creative and I’m always on the lookout for fun, exciting projects to explore with the children.
At home, I spend as much time as I can with my family. I’m happiest when we’re out making memories together—whether that’s heading off on a day trip, enjoying a long walk, or simply being outdoors.
I can’t wait to meet you all in September and start our learning journey together!

Mrs Ashton
I am Mrs Ashton and I have 3 children who all love playing football so I often spend my weekends cheering them on from the sidelines. When they’re not playing football, we enjoy trips to the park, visiting the cinema and watching Disney films at home. My favourite Disney film is Beauty and The Beast!
I love learning about significant people and events about the past. I enjoy visiting museums and going on adventures in London! I have visited London many times and was lucky enough to be there for the King’s Coronation.
At school, I love reading stories and can’t wait to share my favourites with you! I also can’t wait to help you learn to read. We’re going to have so much fun together next year!
