Meet your teachers
Hi everyone! My name is Mrs Tunnard and I will be your Y1 teacher next year. I’m really excited to be your teacher this September! I have a real passion for making learning fun, meaningful and full of discovery. In our classroom, we’ll work together as a team—asking questions, trying new things and supporting each other as we grow. Outside the classroom, I love exploring new places and going on adventures with my three children and our dog. Travelling is something I truly enjoy and I believe there’s always something new to learn from the world around us. Another big passion of mine is Music and Dance. They have been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love sharing my passion whenever I can whether that’s through singing, rhythm games or just enjoying great songs together. I can’t wait to meet you all and begin our learning journey. It’s going to be a fantastic year!
Meet your Teaching Assistants

Mrs Bi
Hi, my name is Mrs Bi and I have been part of the Brinsworth Whitehill Primary team for the past 7 years. I will be supporting you in September in your new year 1 class. I believe the majority of you will alraedy know me from this year. Spending time with my family and friends is what I enjoy the most, especially cooking with my daughters. However, my more recent hobby is acting out different characters during role play sessions with my 5 year old daughter.
Class Information
Our class has a dojo account where we will regularly update you with information about learning, events and things that we are really proud of. Please ensure you check this regularly as we will also share information on school story.
Attendance is really important. Please ensure that you arrive at school on time, every day and be ready to learn!
PE will take place on Wednesday and Thursday. Please send your PE bag (drawstring please) to school on Mondays and take home on Friday.

Y1 Science Class
Y1 had lots of fun learning about different organs in Science, they then labeled the organs on their friends.

The 4 Countries of the United Kingdom
In geography, children in Holly class have been learning the names of the 4 countries of the United Kingdom.

Our Year 1 children have been creating mini portraits of the Queen for our collaborative Jubilee artwork. I can’t wait to see the finished project!
