Happy Chinese New Year!

In Key Stage 1 this week we have been learning about Chinese New Year. Each class has made special masks and we shared these masks with everybody in our Friday assembly. We learnt how to say Happy New Year in Chinese…’Gung Hay Fat Choy’ everybody!

Today we celebrated Chinese New Year. We enjoyed using different materials to make masks, we tasted some delicious Chinese food and in P.E. we listened to Chinese music and practised a dragon dance.      

National Wear Red Day 2016

On Friday we came to school dressed in red. We hope we have raised lots of money for The British Heart Foundation. We thought everybody looked fantastic!

Weigh the weight

Class 3/4 R have been weighing with kg and g which are short for kilograms and grams. Also class 3/4 R have been converting them. These are a few examples… 1 kg=1000g 2 kg=2000g 3 kg=3000g 4 kg=4000g 5 kg=5000g

Exciting Ice!

This week in science we have been investigating ice. We investigated what would happen if you put an ice cube in a glass with hot water and and a glass of cold water.We made it a fair test and used a stop watch. It was ice-citing!!

Great British Brinsworth Bake Off

In class 5c we have been baking eggless chocolate cake. This is because in  ww2  eggs were rationed so they would not have wanted to waste them on chocolate cake. We were split into four groups and set off to make our own cakes! Then we did an independent write after testing our cakes.   […]

Delicious WW2 Cakes

This week in class, 5M have been learning how to write instructions. We have then had a Great British Brinswoth BakeOff (GBBB) with class 5C. We had to follow some instructions to make our very own WW2 chocolate cake (without egg). We had a lot of fun doing this!

Red Day
