Happy Diwali

This week we have been learning all about Diwali, “the festival of  lights”. To celebrate we created diva lamps and even got to try some new Indian food. We looked at all the lovely bright colours we used to decorate our diva lamps and manipulated the clay to make it into a circle. We think […]

Creating contrasts

We are learning about bonfire night and Remembrance Day in year 1. This afternoon, we talked about the different colours, patterns and words we think about when thinking of both events. Miss Bullivant put on some of her favourite jazz music and we had time to paint and create. We then shared our artwork with […]

Bonfire night

This week there has been lots of talk about all the fireworks we’ve seen outside while we’ve been at home. We’ve discussed all the important things to remember if we go to a bonfire night and how to stay safe. Once we looked at all the different fireworks, we thought about the different foods you […]

Remembering in Y1

In year 1, we have been learning about poppies and why we wear them. Miss Bullivant told us a story about a soldier who was in the war 100 years ago. We then drew around our friend and drew over 100 poppies to remember all of the fallen soldiers. Miss Bullivant was very touched by […]

Don’t let us make you jump!

Y1B loved the ‘spooky disco’ that was hosted by Mrs Wildgoose and the Friends of Brinsworth Whitehill. Miss Bullivant felt very scared by all the costumes!

A day at the farm…

To conclude our learning about life on the farm, KS1 took part in a farm day. This included apple tasting, a barn dance and drawing flowers. We had a great day!

It’s Halloween!

We’ve had such a busy Halloween week. Just look at all the exciting activities we have been doing! Happy holidays!

Pumpkins

Something very exciting happened this week, Miss Palmer found the biggest pumpkin we had ever seen! After we had lots of fun playing with the gigantic pumpkin, we started to wonder, what might be inside? So we all sat around in a circle and watched closely as Miss Palmer carefully cut off the top of […]

Halloween week ?

This week our classroom has been taken over, by something truly spooky. We found spiders crawling in our numbers, eyeballs swimming in the water and alien slime splattered around the classroom. So we put on our witches hats, grabbed our magic wands and broomsticks and went to explore all the strange and spooky things we […]

Hamlet out exploring

We really love having a class pet in 5C and he loves to help us with our learning. At times he is a little cheeky and loves to steal our pencils.
