As part of our Eco-Warrior initiative to become a more bee-friendly school, we were delighted to welcome local beekeepers Clare and Sully, who visited us to share their knowledge and passion for beekeeping.
During their visit, the children learned all about the fascinating structure of a beehive, including the different roles bees play in keeping the colony thriving. From worker bees to the queen, the children were captivated by the complexity and importance of bee life. The session was made even more memorable with the chance to taste fresh honey!
This initiative is supported by Wickersley Partnership Trust and forms part of the wider Sustainability Promise, where we commit to promoting environmental responsibility across all schools within the Trust. By encouraging the children to learn about bees and their essential role in our ecosystem, we’re helping to inspire them to care for the planet and make environmentally conscious choices.
A huge thank you to Clare and Sully for generously giving up their time to share their amazing beekeeping knowledge!
