On Thursday 8th May, children at Brinsworth Whitehill had a wonderful day learning about the significance of VE Day. They analysed a range of sources in their History lessons, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the day.
In KS1, the children even made some beautiful VE Day flag buntings for the geriatric wards at the Northern General Hospital. There were some lovely comments from patients, staff and relatives that visited, and they even had an important visitor, Rupert the therapy dog, that came in and seemed to enjoy looking at the bunting.
After this, had their own celebration, enjoying a picnic in the sunshine. Well done, everyone!
