We’re Ofsted Rated ‘Good’!

We’re extremely proud to announce that we have been rated as ‘Good’ in our recent Ofsted inspection. We could not have achieved this without the support of our amazing students, their supportive parents, our fantastic staff and the staff at Wickersley Partnership Trust.

Our ‘Good’ rating recognises the dedication of the staff to the school and ‘The Whitehill Way’. It shows that we continuously prioritise our students’ experiences, and develop their interests and talents through our enrichment opportunities and the range of clubs offered.

The students have been described as ‘respectful’ and ‘include each other’ – meaning that bullying is not a problem and our students’ health and wellbeing is always supported. The relationships between students and staff make Brinsworth Whitehill ‘a happy place to be’.

Since the last inspection, Leadership has transformed the school with an ambitious curriculum that takes into account what students want to know. Whitehill’s SEND provision is commended for its effective support and allowing SEND students to work alongside their peers and achieve the same learning outcomes.

Our curriculum is ‘well-constructed’ and prepares our students for their next stage of learning, plus gives opportunities for ‘character development’ and our Pledges have been recognised to help our students become active citizens, develop life skills and gain cultural experiences.

The ‘Good’ rating is truly a testament to all the hard work put into the school to improve the grading of the previous inspection in 2019, and is a success for the local community too. Caroline Oxborough, Headteacher said, “We are truly proud of this report which is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the staff and our school family. The school ethos shines through with all children being proud, working hard and dreaming big!

“Our commitment to meeting the needs of all children is paramount and the report celebrates this. With the support of WPT, we embark on the next stage of our journey.”

Helen O’Brien, Chief Executive Officer of Wickersley Partnership Trust said, “We are incredibly proud of the journey Brinsworth Whitehill has been on over the last few years. It is fantastic to see ‘The Whitehill Way’ being demonstrated across the school and the recognition of all the hard work the staff have put into delivering the curriculum to give the students the best possible start in life.

“Everyone should be immensely proud of the school’s achievements.”
