Oak Class Celebrates International Women’s Day

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Year 1 have discussed who inspires them and why. We had lots of different ideas including family members, womens footballers, singers and teachers ????????

Y1 Making healthy fruit skewers

Y1 are looking at instructions in Literacy and have been making healthy fruit skewers. We talked about the different ingredients we would need and the different steps it would take to make them.

Y1 Science Class

Y1 had lots of fun learning about different organs in Science, they then labeled the organs on their friends.

Y1 Art Class

Our Year 1 children have been creating mini portraits of the Queen for our collaborative Jubilee artwork. I can’t wait to see the finished project!

Y1 Learn about shadows!

This week in Science, Y1 have been exploring how shadows are made. We have drawn around our shadows outside and shadows made by different objects.

Y1 Reaching for the Stars!

As part of Children’s Mental Health Awareness week, Y1 have been “Reaching for the Stars” and setting ourselves goals (Of course Miss H had to share one of her favourite songs!). We planted cress and talked about how our goals sometimes take time to achieve and we don’t always see growth straight away.
