Blitz Background Painting
3/4S had a lovely afternoon finishing their Blitz background. They mixed powder paints to make warm colours for the backgrounds. Next, the children will be creating silhouettes for the foreground. Mrs Sharp cannot wait until they are finished!
Goodbye Miss Broughton
Last term FS2 as we say goodbye to Miss Broughton! We will miss her so much, but we know she will be amazing in her new role at Thrybergh Primary School!
3/4S Work On Their IT Skills π₯
Mrs Sharp was very impressed with her class’s computing skills. They discussed what the function of the different keys on a keyboard were and the children then wrote a paragraph on their day, remembering to use capital letters and full stops in their writing.
3/4S Make 3D Shapes!
Mrs Sharp’s maths group loved making 3D shapes out of straws and plasticine today. They made cubes, cuboids and square based pyramids. One child even set himself the challenge of making a triangular prism! We then counted how many faces, vertices and edges the shape had.
3/4H Learn All About The Blitz
We had an interesting and exciting literacy lesson today learning all about The Blitz. We watched a short film before making our own Blitz scene with blackout houses. We are now ready to make our vocabulary banks before writing some Blitz poetry. Mrs Hanson was really impressed with the teamwork and ideas we had.π
3/4S WW2 Day
3/4S had an amazing WW2 day today! The children listened so well to their visitor, painted their own rifles, and took part in a parade around the playground. Well done to all of the children who took part!
Y3/4H Make Photo Frames
What a lovely afternoon in Y3/4H today! We have been making some prototype photo frame designs in our design technology lesson. We had to make them so that they could stand up and hold a photo. We now have some great ideas for when we make them using more resistant materials.
1/2H Create Floral Tiles
1/2H have been creating some beautiful floral tiles. πΊπ» Last week we cut out a tile shape in some clay and printed flowers and leaves on them. This week, we have been carefully painting them. They look fabulous!
Exploring French Weather!
Today seemed the perfect day to teach how to say the different types of weather in French! 3/4S used their knowledge to play connect four with their partner, placing their counter on the weather symbol if they had said it correctly.
